Oman Refineries and Petrochemical Company LLC recently provide financial support for a number of students from Sultan Qaboos University, excelling in the College of Engineering specialization "Chemistry". The company also supported the students' projects financially during their remaining period of study.

The Company signed an agreement with the Ministry of Social Development for financing the training of 50 persons of special needs and social security supported family members.

After our successful participation in 2008, ORPC is ready to make its presence felt again at the bi-yearly Oil & Gas Exhibition – OWGA 2010- which takes place from the 11th to the 13th of April at the Oman Exhibition Center.

Sohar Refinery, which has now completed four years since its inception in 2006, embarked on its first ever Turnaround operations in February. This is in line with our Company’s Turnaround reliability policy which mandates comprehensive maintenance works every four calendar years for our refineries.

A high- value agreement was signed between ORPC and Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) to study beneficial applications for spent catalyst and charcoal generated from the operations of ORPC’s MAF and Sohar Refineries.

After much anticipation Sohar Refinery was awarded the prestigious ISO 9001: 2008 certification at a special ceremony organized at the Refinery Complex on September 29th 2009.
